Beatrice Fiorentino
General Delegate
Journalist, author and film critic, she collaborates with a number of newspapers and magazines. She has taught film and audiovisual language at the University of Primorska in Koper and is currently an adjunct professor of Semiology of Cinema and Audiovisuals at the University of Trieste. She received the Akai Award for “Best Film Critic” at the 71. Venice Film Festival and is a committee member for the Film della Critica organised by the National Union of Italian Film Critics. For the ShorTS International Film Festival, she has curated the New Imprints section since 2015 and, since 2023, she programmes the Campo Lungo section. She collaborates with D’A Film Lab Barcelona in the selection of projects for the Final Cut programme. Since 2016 she has been on the selection committee of the Venice Settimana Internazionale della Critica, of which she was appointed Artistic Director in 2020 and re-confirmed in 2024. She is a member of the EFA (European Film Academy), the Accademia del Cinema Italiano – Premi David di Donatello, the ICS (International Cinephile Society). She has participated in collective works with essays on Alberto Fasulo, Liliana Cavani, Luca Guadagnino, Valerio Mastandrea, Marco Risi, Giuseppe Gaudino, Anna Eriksson. Matteo Berardini
Film studies scholar at University of Rome Tor Vergata, he is author of several scientific papers and essays. As a film critic, he is the editor in chief for Point Blank, as well as contributor for FilmTV, Duels, Cineforum Web and INLAND – Quaderni di cinema. He has taken part in collective works on Coppola, Clouzot and Gondry, and curated two books on television studies, Nel Labirinto di Westworld and L’arrivo Del Lupo: Netflix e la nuova televisione. He has written two monographs: Strade di Fuoco. La città nel cinema criminale anni ’80 and La Cura del Cinema: MUBI e l’esperienza audiovisiva on demand. His latest work deals with the expanded forms of contemporary cinema and was published by UTET University.
Marianna Cappi
Film critic and screenwriter, she has collaborated for years with MyMovies.it and the daily newspaper Voce di Mantova. She was in the selection committee of the Milan Sguardi Altrove festival and the Mantova Film Festival. As part of the “Visual Education Worker at School”, she has coordinated projects in schools of various grades. She has lectured for a number of Master’s degree programmes. She teaches at the RUFA Rome University of Fine Arts.
Francesco Grieco
He has been a member of the selection committee of the feature film competition for the Presente Italiano Festival since its first edition. He has been staff writer for the daily magazine of the Locarno Film Festival, editor-in-chief of CineCriticaWeb, director of Mediacritica, film pre-selection consultant for the Biografilm Festival, and coordinator of the selection committee for the Calvert Journal Film Festival. He has collaborated on the monographs Il cinema francese negli anni di Vichy, Streghe, pagliacci, mutanti – ll cinema di Alex De la Iglesia, Il cinema di Robert Mulligan, Spettri del desiderio – Il cinema e i film di Luca Guadagnino, MannHunters – Michael Mann a 360 voci; on the catalogues of the Asian Film Festival and the Premio Amidei; and on the film criticism magazines Inland, Cinefilia Ritrovata, Filmidee, Duemilauno, Carnage News.
Marco Romagna
Film critic, founder and editorial director of the online magazine CineLapsus, since 2015 he is also editor for Quinlan.it and, more sporadically, contributor to other publications (such as Sentieri Selvaggi, La Repubblica, CineCriticaWeb and Film Parlato). A regular attendee of national and international festivals, he has always been on the lookout for hidden gems in the folds of the side sections, widening his perspective as much as possible from mainstream cinema to genres, geographical areas and new authors yet to be discovered.
