When does the call for submissions for the Settimana Internazionale della Critica open?<\/strong>
\nThe call for entries for the main Settimana programme and for SIC@SIC short film programme is published on the official website, and announced through our social media accounts, in late February and closes in mid June. The exact opening and closing dates are specified in the annual Regulations.<\/p>\n

Where can I find the Regulations?<\/strong>
\nYou can find the Regulations for our two sections on the following links: Settimana Internazionale della Critica<\/a> and SIC@SIC<\/a>. Please carefully read them before submitting your films. Registration implies full acceptance of these guidelines.<\/p>\n

How do I submit a film?<\/strong>
\nSubmissions can only be made through the official procedure as specified in the Regulations. Submissions via email, social media, or messaging channels will not be considered. Once your submission has been made, the system will send you a confirmation email.<\/p>\n

Is there a registration fee?<\/strong>
\nThere is a registration fee of EUR 60 for each feature film. The fee is intended to cover the administrative and secretarial costs associated with managing the applications. It is not possible to receive a refund even if your film is not selected or fails to meet the submission guidelines. Any requests for fee waivers must be adequately justified and sent to info@sicvenezia.it. Please note that fee waivers are granted in exceptional cases and are subject to limited availability.
\nParticipation in the SIC@SIC selection process is free of charge; no fee is required.<\/p>\n

Which films are eligible?
\n<\/strong>The Settimana Internazionale della Critica is dedicated to brand-new debut films, i.e., feature films or documentaries presented as world premieres.\u00a0By \u201cdebut\u201d is intended the director’s first fiction or documentary feature, or first fiction feature film if the previous works are documentaries. The detailed eligibility criteria are specified in the official Regulations.\u00a0Any second feature films may be considered exclusively for one of the two out-of-competition slots, at the sole discretion of the Artistic Direction and the Selection Committee.
\nThe SIC@SIC section is dedicated to short films directed by Italian filmmakers who have not yet made a feature film. The eligibility criteria are specified in the official rules.<\/p>\n

Are international short films eligible?
\n<\/strong>There is no international competition for short films. The SIC@SIC-Short Italian Cinema section is organized on the basis of a specific agreement with Cinecitt\u00e0 and is reserved exclusively for Italian-produced short films.<\/p>\n

Is a world premiere status necessary?
\n<\/strong>Yes, the world premiere of the films is required. It is the responsibility of the producer\/distributor to verify compliance with the requirements before registration.<\/p>\n

Is it necessary to have a sales agent?
\n<\/strong>No, it is not necessary to have a sales agent to participate in the selection process.<\/p>\n

Can I submit a rough cut?
\n<\/strong>Yes, you can submit a film in post-production, provided that the status of the work is clearly indicated. In case of selection, the final version must be delivered by the deadlines set by the Festival.<\/p>\n

Can I send in an updated version of the film?
\n<\/strong>You can update the submitted version of the work by notifying us by email. Repeated submissions of versions with minor changes are not encouraged.<\/p>\n

Can I send additional materials (teasers, dossiers, press kits)?
\n<\/strong>The submission of extra materials is not required and is optional, and must in any case be made within the specified deadlines.<\/p>\n

Is it possible to re-submit a film that has already been presented in a previous edition?
\n<\/strong>Yes, it is possible to resubmit a work that has already been submitted for selection in a previous edition, but only if it is a significantly re-edited or substantially reworked version of the one previously viewed.\u00a0Resubmissions of identical versions or versions with minor changes are not permitted.<\/p>\n

When will I receive a response?
\n<\/strong>The selection process takes place over several months. Only films that are selected or shortlisted will be officially contacted. The outcome of the selection process will be communicated to each applicant by the program announcement date (end of July).\u00a0No individual feedback will be provided on films that are not selected.<\/p>\n

Can I ask for feedback?
\n<\/strong>Given the high number of submissions received and the concentration of activities during the selection period, the International Critics’ Week does not provide critical feedback or individual evaluations on the films submitted.<\/p>\n

Who can I write to for clarification?

When will the selection be announced?<\/strong>
\nThe program will be announced online in the second half of July. The video announcement will be available on the website and official social media channels.<\/p>\n

Use of the Settimana logo<\/strong>
\nFrom the moment of selection, it is mandatory to include the Settimana Internazionale della Critica logo on all promotional materials and on all copies of the film intended for any use (screenings, festivals, press material, trailers, etc.) for the entire duration of the film’s circulation.\u00a0It is forbidden to use the logo of the Venice International Film Festival.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
