SIC official artwork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00abWe started off with an embrace, then continued with the firm resolution of reclaiming lost spaces, unrepresented identities, the places of the soul kept hidden because too troublesome or excessively disturbing.<br \/>\nThe time has come, therefore, to put away weapons and armour, to drop masks and cloaks, and let the body itself become the battlefield.<br \/>\nA body which is feared, adored, concealed, exposed, wounded, protected, desired, mutilated, preserved, hated and loved \u2013 capable of arousing wonder, horror, tenderness, awe.<br \/>\nThat body, which is our body, becomes a cinematic screen, surrendering itself and inviting a stream of light to invest it, piercing the darkness, setting its outline, its shape in sharp relief.<br \/>\nIts story.<br \/>\nWhich is every story.<br \/>\nBecause it is from the body, for the body, on the body \u2013 the one meeting point between intention and representation \u2013 that the cinematic gaze is able to tear through the veil of illusion permeating the reality that surrounds us, in order to decipher its symbols.<br \/>\nThe body is what we offer.<br \/>\nThe body is what we are.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emiliano Mammucari<\/strong> is a cartoonist, writer and illustrator. He began his career in 1998 with the graphic novel <em>Povero Pinocchio<\/em>, published by Montego, the publishing house he helped to create. In 2013 he released <em>Orfani<\/em>, Sergio Bonelli Editore\u2019s first monthly colour series, later published worldwide. For the 2017 <em>Orfani: Terra<\/em>, he also wrote the story. He worked on the drawings for <em>La nuova alba dei morti viventi<\/em>, a reimagining of Dylan Dog\u2019s first famous publication. In 2018 he published the book <em>Lezioni spirituali per giovani fumettari<\/em>. In 2020 he drew <em>Zardo<\/em>, the \u201crediscovered\u201d graphic novel written by Dylan Dog\u2019s father Tiziano Sclavi. His latest work is the series <em>Nero<\/em> that tells the story of an Arab warrior during the Crusades.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Mauro Uzzeo<\/strong> has been working with comics, cinema and television for many years now. He scripted the adventures of <em>Dylan Dog<\/em>, <em>Orfani<\/em> and <em>Zagor<\/em>. Together with Giovanni Masi he created <em>Il Confine<\/em>, a multi-media narrative universe, and they also scripted together <em>Flash Vs. Zagor<\/em>. He was head director of the creative department of Rainbow CGI and is the right arm of Iginio Straffi in the creation of the Winx Club cartoons. He worked on the special effects of <em>L\u2019ultimo terrestre<\/em> by Gipi, he directed the animated credits of Fausto Brizzi\u2019s <em>Com\u2019e bello far l\u2019amore<\/em>, wrote the script for <em>Monolith<\/em> and <em>Se mi vuoi bene<\/em>, the latter by Fausto Brizzi with whom he co-wrote the film <em>Bla Bla baby<\/em>. He scripted the film <em>Dampyr<\/em> and doubled as a creative producer for the animated series <em>Dragonero<\/em>. Uzzeo collaborated with Italy\u2019s Department for Equal Opportunities for several campaigns supporting women victims of violence. He participated in the biggest<br \/>\ncollective exhibition of cartoonists <em>1938\/2018 Eighty years from Italy\u2019s racials laws<\/em>. Together with Daniele Bonomo, Paolo Campana, Stefano Piccolu and Fabrizio Verrocchi creates the ARF!, a cartoon festival that in 2020 published <em>Come Vite Sistanti<\/em>, a collective work of over eighty among the most important italian cartoonists. Throughout the years his works have been awarded at the Future Film Festival, Castelli Animati Lamezia Film Festival and Animago. As recognition of his activities as \u201ccultural agitator\u201d, he received in 2016 the Andrea Pazienza award.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Fabrizio Verrocchi<\/strong> started off as character designer for one of the main Italian software houses in 1999 and then moved on to work as graphic designer and art director, advertising and fashion (BCVa, Sixty Group, Fendi), web and mobile UI\/UX design (Agid &#8211; Agenzia per l\u2019Italia Digitale, Maiora Labs, RedBit Games, SciamLab) and publishing, mainly comics (Arancia Studio, BAO Publishing, Disney, CoconinoFandango, Sergio Bonelli Editore, Star Comics). He is founder and then coordinator until 2021 of the Graphic Design course, department of Comics and Illustration at the RUFA &#8211; Rome University of Fine Arts. In 2015 with Stefano Piccoli, Mauro Uzzeo, Daniele Bonomo and Paolo Campana founded ARF!
